IMAGE
asia was formed three years ago, and focused
its resources up to 2003 on publishing and
media activities in the fields of tourism
(including specifically the meetings, incentives,
conventions and exhibitions sector) and the
marine industry.
The company currently has two information-based
publications targeting closely-defined niches,
and will be launching two more during 2003.
In 1999, IMAGE asia was responsible for the
editorial , design and photography for the
TICA Planning Guide 2000/2001.
IMAGE asia's two active company directors,
Grenville Fordham and Andy Dowden, combine
many years of experience in the sharp end
of the marine industry, hotel and tourism,
international sales and marketing, publishing
and event organisation and promotion.
Both have been actively involved for several
years in the organisation of the Phuket King's
Cup Regatta, Asia's biggest and best known
sailing event — and the biggest annual
sporting and lifestyle event in Thailand.
Company director, Andy Dowden was regatta
president for the 2002/2003 event.
The company has held the media relations contract
for the Phuket King's Cup Regatta for several
years, and currently acts as media consultant
to Royal Phuket Marina Resort and Spa.
Moving forward from promoting events for others,
and publicising the businesses of those involved
in catering to business-related groups, IMAGE
asia launches the most exciting and necessary
development on the Asian boating scene: an
international, marina-side boat show with
on-water exhibits. Phuket's first international
boat show, Phuket
International Marine Expo 2003,
will be held in December 2003.
While continuing to be innovative in the publishing
and media fields, the company plans to expand
more and more into the organisation and promotion
of in-house events in Thailand, and Phuket
in particular.
The accumulated knowledge and expertise within
the company makes it the perfect vehicle to
launch the most exciting and necessary development
on the Asian boating scene: an international,
marina-side boat show with on-water exhibits
in the Asian destination where most boat owners
prefer to be - Phuket. |
