The Vietnamese Embassy in collaboration with Thai Vietjet Air and Dusit Thani Hotel launched the Vietnamese Food and Culture Promotion which runs from 16-22 July, in Bangkok. Nguyen Hai Bang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand stressed that food is a unique feature of Vietnamese culture.
According to Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) governor Pakapong Sirikantaramas, contracts for a new light rail network in Phuket will open for bidding in 2020. Speaking Tuesday he said that contracts for the investment studies the consulting firms will conduct will be signed by the end of the month.

Phuket Hotels Association partners US Embassy to eliminate single-use plastics

The Phuket Hotels Association (PHA) and the US Embassy Science Fellowship Program have joined forces to tackle waste management in Phuket. The province is set to become one of the first tourism destinations in the world to eliminate single-use plastics across such a large number of hotels and resorts.
Thailand’s high-speed rail project enjoys popularity among bidders

The Thai Government has announced it has received 31 bids from local and international companies to build the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) rail project. The plan is to build a 220km high-speed rail line linking Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and U-Tapao airports, as the first large infrastructure project in the EEC.
Bangkok Beauty Show 2018 opened its doors on 12 July at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). Runnung until 14 July there are booths from more than 150 companies from Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and Thailand with at least 200 million baht expected to be spent in three days.
